2. Boeing makes lightest metal ever
It’s like they’re intentionally overturning all of our beliefs. I mean, look at it:
It’s 100 times lighter than Styrofoam because the entire structure is just 0.01% metal. That’s right, this decidedly metallic-looking thing is mostly air because it’s been designed by the
eggheads scientists over at Boeing’s HRL Laboratories as “a lattice of interconnected hollow tubes with a thickness of 100 nanometers, 1,000 times thinner than a human hair.”
This is going to revolutionize the aerospace industry provided they manage to bring down production costs to less than $5 million/gram or whatever it costs at the moment.
